In the 1881 census, the Corfield family lived in the Whitby East District of Ontario. The information on George states that we was a Hotel Keeper, was born in England and was an Episcopal Methodist.
From 1883-1887, George and Jane managed the Half-Way House in Scarborough, Ontario for the owner Mary McCleary. The Half-way House, originally located at Kingston Road and Midland Avenue, is now preserved at Black Creek Pioneer Village.
In 1891, George, Jane and their family lived in Durham County. His occupation is listed in the census as Farmer and Metal Keeper. George passed away in Blackstock, Ontario (near Lake Scugog) sometime between 1891 and 1901.
